CALLING ALL ARCTIC ARTISTS *
Welcome to the third edition of Pan-ArcticVision!
Submit your application here!
Pan-ArcticVision is calling on all Arctic musicians, bands / artists to join a truly international, circumpolar, border-crossing experience of song, community and empowerment - going live and in Iqaluit, Nunavut (CA), October 18th 2025.
Together with local partners, we are looking for participants from:
- Alaska
- Nunavut, Canada
- Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland)
- Ísland
- Føroyar (Faroe Islands)
- Sápmi
- Nord-Norge (Northern Norway)
- Norra Sverige (Northern Sweden)
- Pohjois-Suomi (Northern Finland)
- Russian Arctic Exiles
(PLEASE NOTE: Not all territories have open calls, some artists are selected by other means)
Requirements:
1 -
The work of music could be a song, tune, rap, chant, composition… - whatever can be performed live on stage by yourself (and possibly some more people). Time limit is approx. 4 minutes.
2 -
Even if this event is named Pan-ArcticVision, we are NOT looking for your typical «Eurovision-song»: The Pan-ArcticVision is about the local cultures of the Arctic; how they are similar and how they are different. We want local languages, local musical cultures and local fusions of styles (no English for those who are not native English-speakers). We want lyrics concerning local and northern issues, and feel free to include political topics. We are looking for professional contributions, but there are no limitations on style, age, orientation or worldview - and the avantgarde is of course welcome. Please surprise us!
3 -
Because participants must travel over long distances, and this is costly in the Arctic, we have to limit the call to solos and duos (but if you are more people and still want to participate; let us talk, please! - maybe we can find local musicians in Iqaluit for you to work with? Or maybe we can look for additional funding for travel, together?)
4 -
In the registration form, you are asked to submit:
- Links to recordings of earlier music / songs
- Description of an idea for your PAV-contribution (if you have an idea at this point)
- Some words about yourself / your band (please describe your connection to the Arctic, where you come from and where you live, your cultural and professional background, your language)
- Artist photos
- Links to so-me or other interesting stuff
(The forms cannot be saved as you go along, so be sure to have your info ready as you enter the form)
5 -
Incoming proposals will be assessed by a panel combining local competence from each territory and the producers of Pan-ArcticVision. The panel might chose an artist directly, work in dialogue with one or more applicants, or invite artists to apply.
Registration form -
deadline May 1. 2025

What will happen if you become The Chosen One?
1 - You will travel to Iqaluit, Canada, to perform a work of music for a live audience. The event will be broadcast and streamed across the Arctic in a multi camera TV-production.

4 - You will take part in networking activities and rehearsals in Iqaluit the days leading up to Oct 18th. You should be ready for travel to Iqaluit by Oct 12, and expect to travel home no sooner than Oct 19.
5 - Travel, accommodation and food will be covered by the arranger. You are guarantee an artist fee of total 1500 euro for each team, 1000 euro for solo artists (if we are able to find funding for more, the artist fee will be larger).
6 - You will be given a unique opportunity to build new Arctic collaborations and networks, to have your music exposed to a broad international circumpolar audience and press, and to be part of a wonderful and bold adventure!
We are looking very much forward to hear more about you and your music! …and please remember:
The Pan-ArcticVision is an artist-run non-profit initiative. We work together with great partners in a wonderful but small Arctic community. We are good at solving challenges, but we might encounter limitations when it comes to funding, available equipment, type of accommodation, weather etc. However, with everybody's help, we will manage to pull this off and continue creating great visions for the Pan-Arctic! We do this because believe we can change the world.
Pan-ArcticVision is owned and organized by NORDTING - The Northern Assembly (NO), the 2025-edition is produced in cooperation with Alianait Arts Festival in Iqaluit (CA).
«If your goal is fortune and fame and a golden first prize, you should maybe look elsewhere.
But if you are up for a new adventure, if you want to build Pan-Arctic community, meet new friends and colleagues; if you want to challenge the understanding of the Arctic, if you want to share your music and bring power, pride and independence to the North - then the Pan-ArcticVision is PERFECT for you!»
- Amund Sjølie Sveen, artist & musician, artistic director of Pan-ArcticVision
